Before I came to supras I built carbed v8 engines and I still get my subscriptions . In this months car craft they put a spacer on an engine and gained 23hp and it was still climbing before the valves floated.
Any engine can be put into any vehicle. It just depends on how well you can fabricate or how deep are your pockets. In this case I think it has been done before and talked about here.
I beg to differ. I work at a ford dealership and I see a lot of the banks and other performance parts on them with egt gauges. They will easily peg out a 1600* gauge. Diesels make a lot of heat from there exhaust. The 6.4 makes so much heat it can burn off paint and shoot 10 ft flames when in...
Thats the same style turbo they use on the powerstroke 6.0. I was playing around with how to make them work on a gas engine but I cant find a test subject.
You can still have economy and th350 strength. If you attach a gear vendors overdrive to the end of the tranny it gives it a .7 4th gear. You can also split gears with it so you have a 6 speed auto. It can also handle 1000hp so it should hold to what ever a street car can throw at it.
A properly built th350 can handle that. Im building a 496 that will make 739 ft/lbs and Im going to use my hughes racing th350 because they said it should hold it.
A manual reverse valve body in a th350 on the street is a no no:3d_frown: . The trans will free wheel everytime you let off the gas and slam back into gear when you get back on it , like stop and go traffic.
Diesels are a great engine but can be costly. The best part of them is the idle. Ever hear a turbo diesel with no cats and flow through muffler? It sounds like a jet taking off. I have a 6.0 powerstroke at work that I will try to get some measurements off of to compare to the 7m. powerstrokes no...
That turbo sure looks familiar:biglaugh:. Looks like you found out how to mount it with the elbow. I really want to see what kind of power you get out of this so I can kick myself later.
I have only used rubber when cutting a rotor. Ive never seen a rubber absorbant that was meant to be driven on. I know my nova came from the factory witht he drums wrapped in steel sprigs to stop vibration.
Is this an actual short throw as in it moves the pivot piont changing the angle of the shifter? Or does it just move the knob lower like the SOGI shifter?
I cut and welded mine. It came out to be the perfect height. My arm is level on the armrest when holding the shifter, but I dont have a stock knob. I dont know what kind of knob it is.
I think he means 12 bolt. I would go for it. It will probably be a little nose heavy, but will be very fun to pull up to a meet and see the look on peoples faces when they here the cam.
