IJ your idea seem to be the most logical, it keeps the filter from getting water logged and getting taken out from things that are kicked up on the road.
and if you have colder air to start out with, then it will heat up less as its compressed. which is why a cold air is good for turbo cars.
i always find it a little refreshing to see just a normal person, with problems just like everybody else, but still not trying to play the "omg look at me im so poor card."
but it looks like you have a nice car and have some nice plans for it, i have a full set of trim that you could have...
i just press mine on and if the lip catches i get a wodden "stick" (best way to describe it) and then press them in. but a socket that fits usually works. for the cams i was able to put them on my hand.
and i've never put anything actually ON the seals, and i've never had a leak.
you cant "pull" codes from an eclipse... you connect a voltmeter to the two connectors and then watch how many times it "blips" it shoots out and then thats the code.
is it a turbo or non turbo? either way its FWD, but is it auto or stick too?
and check the coolant temperature sensor...
for the power hes shooting for is within the stock injectors, im sure once he gets it modded he'll want more! so the lex + 550 actually wouldnt be a bad idea... just get all of the other supporting fuel stuff (pump, fpr, safc/tuning device, and a good wideband)
2.5'' metal pipes is the real benefit. not to mention a new IC will be way more efficent.
and if the filter filters the best, its protecting your engine which is easily worth the extra $100. you buy good oil because you want to protect your car right?
horsepowerfreaks just buys from vendors like titan and a2motorsports... theres more than enough vendors on this site to get anything you need. especially from titan.
the problem i had with my 7mge is that my throttle body is cracked where the coolant lines are, and since i have a catch cat hooked up to the one port (where the vavle covers attach), my catch can filled with water and then i lost it all because it leaked out of the catch can. so i looped my...
i guess if you plan to out grow a 3'' exhaust... then just go 4'' as 3.5'' is not that much of a difference anyways... unless you just go straight to a 3.5'' exhaust from a stock exhaust.
and im not trying to be cheap, just logical, if a blitz exhaust will more than do the job, as with me...
there is a point when it becomes overkill though... 4'' exhaust on a 400hp car is stupid and serves no purpose... a 3'' would do it quieter and a whole lot cheaper.
