i don't think it really matters, just make sure after you install your new pumpkin to line up the holes correctly. It took me a few hours my first time replacing it. I was by myself.

make sure you have some PB Blaster

it makes things quicker. Also a pry bar would help after you unbolt the axles. my steps to taking off the pumpkin were:
unbolt driveshaft, unbolt axles, setup jack underneath pumpkin, unbolt pumpkin. but you'll have to wrestle out the old pumpkin and wrestle in the new one. it's kind of a pain. if you're doing it by yourself, you're going to have to unbolt the axle one or two nuts at a time because you'll have to pull the e-brake so the rear tires don't spin.

after you unbolt the axles and driveshaft, i think are only six bolts that hold the diff in place.

Raising and lowering the diff with a floor jack is very tricky. I had to build a flat stand out of 2x4's that then bolted to the top of the jack where the cup sits. It then allows you roll the diff around and adjust the height as you get read to bolt it in. I don't think I could have done it without it.
