Might check your timing... He may have pulled the CPS off to get access while doing the helicoil. If it is put back on wrong, you will have symptoms like that. It is possible to have the CPS installed 180 degrees out. Car will run, but badly.....Ask me how I know:biglaugh:

I am guessing you are talking about the stock boost gauge sender. Disconnecting it will only make your gauge quit. It has no relevance to the ECU or it's fuel cut function.
