The 1/2 Na-t thing just isn't worth it IMHO, when you can get a set of turbo electronics pretty cheap if you piece it all together from the for sale section. I look at it this way, for what I spent on a rising rate FPR and if I bought a Safc for the 1/2na-t, I would be at the same $$$ as using...
Overall this exhaust, with the test pipe, gave me 2psi more boost. Now running 10psi on the stock turbo/wastegate. With the NA compression this thing rocks:biglaugh:
I like the fact that shit on my car is built by me, this was the first time I tried something like this. My welding sucks, but...
OK... Time for an update.
Just finished making my exhaust. The old 2.5in NA exhaust is gone. In goes the full 3in turbo back system.
What I used....
1x length of 3in pipe from local muffler shop = $20
1x 3in mandrel bent pipe bends from ebay = $32
1x Magnaflow 12298 3inch in 2x 3in...
Hmmm.. If you are asking me if I have a picture, then no. I looked but I don't have any with the NA manifold and turboed. I only ran the NA mani for a short while NA-T, then I switched to a turbo manifold to remove shit from the top of the engine.
It's kinda self-explanatory though. Just run...
Use the hole in the side of the NA intake mani that currently goes to the ISC valve.
You will need to run a new hose from pre-turbo (accordian hose) to the ISC, as it needs non-pressurized air.
The hole is in about the same place as the one on the turbo "3000" pipe, so you can use a stock...
Yep, did all that. I thought maybe I was missing something. I am going to pull the wiring and re-solder it, basically verify it all again. See if that helps.
I will check that.
So I'm guessing from your replies that you didn't do anything special to get it all datalogging? Just wired it up and it all worked huh. No special setup required through the datalogger software?
Well, I used your wiring diagram, and verified it with the TSRM and zeitronix instructions. I am certain it is correct.
1989 turbo, TPS is on the red/white VTA, VF is on the grey wire.
Still no luck.
By the way, thanks for putting in the effort to do that wiring guide.
Ok, I just finished up my ZT-2 wideband install and I have a few problems.
When I datalog I have good lambda, AFR and RPM. But no TPS or user input (vf).
I see that there is a calibrate function for both of these inputs, which I tried and no luck.
Anybody know if I need to do something with...
Resonators are straight through, they don't rob any power, they just adjust the frequency of the exhaust pulse to knock out some noise.
You would know drone if you have it. Its a constant deep noise that will get really annoying at cruise, when you are at a constant RPM. Kind of like a bad...
What kind of piping are you going to do. Straight through or use a resonator?
I bet it will drone without a resonator, I had a similar setup on my car, sounds good.
If you need a mandrel bent, bolt on catback check my for sale thread. I am going to be in DFW next weekend and could deliver...
I've tried both, I prefer the turbo mani as it is less crap over the engine.
The throttle body size is very similar on both so I don't think there is a big flow difference, if any.
Also remember that 2 x 2in holes are not the same as a 4 in hole for flow purposes.
pi x radius/squared =...
Hah, the GTE cover was just in better shape than my GE cover. Not trying to trick anyone:evil2: Although I might suprise a few people at stock boost on a CT-26:naughty:
The intercooler install was easier than I planned.
I see that most guys pull the bumper off, well I was test fitting it in there about 20 seconds after the UPS guy came to my house:biglaugh: It looked so shiny I couldn't wait! And I ended up just holding it up there with some jack stands and...
