The MKIII can really benefit from a deeper sump, and larger capacity oil pan with better baffling.
There are a few options, some relatively inexpensive (a few hundred bucks), and some very, very costly.
Zum- it's located on the steering column next to the firewall. ;)
SupraDupra- Replace the switch in your driver's side door, and that should fix your problem for another 20+ years.
I would bypass all that, pull them out, and send them to RC Engineering for cleaning. Then you KNOW they're working properly, and they come with a flow sheet.
