Yeah, mine had an almost "full-metal-jacket."

I daily drive mine, so we'll see how it goes. CK sold a BUNCH (50+ kits I believe), and I've only seen a couple of times where someone had a bad bulb, or even a color diff. between bulbs. I bought mine last year (maybe longer), so there's been plenty of time for others to post up the unsuccesses.

Supradupra has that install page, but I thought I saw another write-up for the wiring and relay to allow the high-beam indicator on the dash (or something along those lines). I think it was in one of Poodles' threads.

It seemed that my high beam was not working when I checked last night, so will have to check it out today.

Hadn't done the foglight rewire yet, but that may have something to do with it.

EDIT: I bought my set in a late 2007 group buy (version 2.99, I think). I got the kit which has actuators on the bulbs with sheilds that move electronicly so that you will have hi/low beams.

I linked the EBAY auction, for the headlight housings, but it's been so long, it does not show the auction details. Here's what I put in that old thread...

"I got my Euro headlamps for about $34 shipped, but saw that the same seller has these same head lamp housings listed for other vehicles at about $25 shipped.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...QQcmdZViewItem"

The seller is performancexcessories and is no longer a registered ebay user. In the link I had posted, it was these same housings and the auction title says ... Chevrolet-GMC-Pickup-6x8-HID-H4-Conversion-Headlights

Again, the H6054 housings are used across a wide range of vehicles, including the MKIII. I made sure that they were not diamond cut and that they were Euro-spec.

Good luck!

Adjusted the beam/aim tonight and not as satisfied as I'd thought I'd be. I did not see a well-defined cut-off line line some others have posted with their conversions. Light is bright and "clean," just not showing the distinct line/cut-off at about 25 ft.

I may try another housing (Hella E-code), but will do a bit more research to ensure that it's the right answer.

There is a mod you can do to the blinders to make them work better for low beam, no idea if they'll effect high beam.

You could probably also paint them black, but it would need to be a high temp paint...

Sorry to say it, but it seems that many people, myself included, end up unhappy with HID bulbs in halogen housings. The glare is unavoidable and the beam pattern sucks compared to a proper projector. I have already bought a set of Acura TSX projectors to swap into my car soon.

Winnar! TSX is a nice setup. Do you plan on running a separate housing for high beam? :)
