if i do the basic upgrades like a whole new exhaust system, headers, and a better intake system from a stock engine?

Well it's in the GE section, so probably not turbo'd but I'd say it'd be a bit more than 12whp.. but probably no more than like.. maybe 25 or so? Unless your engine is old and beat down, then maybe 12 is right.. lol
lol... go look at some of the 7MGE dyno sheets and the associated mods. Most average between 140-160whp depending how beat down the engine is.

The 7MGE is a slug. Unless you spend ridiculous amounts of money on it, or turbocharge it, you're not going anywhere fast. Literally.
200rwhp is nearly unheard of from the 7MGE, unless you dump in serious amounts of cash. With that same serious amount of cash, you can put down 300+ easily with a GTE or N/A->T.

a good thing to do would be to dyno your car now, then put on your exhaust and intake then dyno again. that way, when someone else asks you can look like a super smart guy and give them a real number. although it will be slightly different with each car anyway

good call.. although for a "slug" paying for two separate dyno sessions may make you wanna smash your head against a wall.. 
so really a 7mge isn't even worth my time? ill eventually get a 7mg-te motor to swap out but i dunno when that will be.

thats true too...after the first one i would just be like "oh its ok..im gunna do upgrades", but after the second one it would be more long the lines of "FML" lol....no offense ge's out there
just take care of the the ge maintenance wise till you save for a swap.....wasring money on teh ge iss the equivalent of taking a lighter and burning it
