i doubt you could, but could you preheat a chunk of steel and clamp it on under your seam, then preheat the entire piece?
only bring this up because i was reading the opposite on miller's site (to weld sheet metal have a heat sink like a bar of copper underneath to draw heat = less burnthrough)
PM Adjuster to get a few more tips, and look for his thread on painting in general. I usually let the local body shop take care of mine (they've seen it three times already) and the spraying i've done didn't need it.
i'd only mix it for the bumpers (and trim if you're painting that), but...

sears dicked me on a set of sumitomo tires that wore out after 5k miles (center rib was completely gone, and i'd kept them at 32 psi that sears inflated them to). i had paperwork, receipts and recorded mileage of when they installed them. they said they wouldn't help me, it was my problem now...
what's involved to install a stroker kit (what are the supporting mods)? i know its replacing the internals of the engine, but does the head need work after?
