im in it because i love the body styling. i chose this car over an 89 Trans Am GTA 5.7 TPI because this car already Has a turbo on it. the GTA, i had plans for a crate 350 built for boost with a 144ci blower... then shit can the blower and manifold, switch to a dual plan and 850cfm boost-carb...
ive done it, i dont recommend it.
the lower stick is a bad angle. to get into the rear gears (2, 4, R), you basicaly have to push down more than you pull. its really hard to just pull the shift w/ a single rear-ward motion because the line of operation puts the armrest in the way of your...
he made something, not sure if it had kevlar in it tho. i think i saw CF fuse box covers too but that may have just been the mkiv. i dont remember, it was a while back.
i vote for C's... i never thought a shifter should cost $300... but holy shit. i drove an FD with a C's shifter. it was so good, itll make you Smack yo mama! and the quality was top notch. it might as well have been designed by the OEM themselves.
possibly... but ive never heard anyone mention integrated kevlar into a true CF hood. with enough layers and varying the angles of the intersecting weaves, you can create CF panels of widely varying resiliance. you can make something very rigid and brittle or you can make it floppy and flexible...
that is the BEST guage cluster i have seen yet!
im utterly amazed! great work Tek... i NEED a boost guage like that. was it a 60mm unit that you gutter and affixed the stuff inside the cluster?
id love to see any other pics of the boost guage retrofit.
how can you have carbon-kevlar?
kevlar is a polymer... as in, plastic. do they weave brittle carbon fibers with the flexy kevlar fibers???
i dont know why people dont make Kevlar hoods for cars. its Lighter than Fiberglass and Cheaper than Carbon-fiber... not to mention...
good work... i outlined it on the other STarter thread on SF but good working cross-posting info here.
i can confirm non-contact related issues. i went thru 3 different starters and 2 sets of contacts before i finally bought wire, connectors and a relay. now my starter works flawlessly...
it sounds average to me.
i wouldnt pay more than $70/injector and $0/clip... especially when you can go to ANY junk yard and find the injector clips you want and buy/steal them for MUCH less.
wouldnt it be funny if FP threw a Borg wheel inside the 35R..
and i think its funny that the concept of Lag and 35R are in the SAME though bubble... haha! i scoff at 35R "lag"... Scoff! scoff scoff!
that HTA wheel Definitly looks like its cut on a 5-axis CNC machine, just like other Borg...
i have a seat buckle from the passenger seat...
if TOyota has a non-throttle body based TC system, it wouldnt be on the MK3. if their flagship sports car in 93.5 still used a throttle plate, the MK3 certainly would have used something as primative if not MORE primative like a monkey under the...
lol... i thought it was a T88 when i bought it. thats what i was told by my old roommate who traded it to me to cover $400 worth of rent ;) .
then the hotside threw me off. T88's dont come in a 17cm housing. its a TD07 housing. but then i wondered, how the hell is it a T78 with a 76mm...
tial v44 FTW... even the knock-offs are good. my friend is running 10.50's on one right now. its got a 10psi spring in it. its almost internally identical to a real V44 that my roommate has. the only difference is the diaprhragm and the valve itself. the diaphragm tries to a be a rolling-type...
im seeing similar issues w/ my car.
im looking strongly at ignition timing issues.
at part throttle acceleration, the car "Surges". the power comes and goes as if i were peddling the throttle between 10% and 40%. the problem is, my turbo can spool at 25% throttle. i can get full boost at...
