Yeah, it's there for a temp sensor, I think. If you aren't going to use it then you can plug it with a m16-1.5 drain plug. I just went to Knecht's (or was it Schuck's?) and asked for one.

I would assume some people are stupid enough to fall for this or we wouldn't keep getting these e-mails.

I don't need a controller that's going to do a low/high speed thing on one fan. I'd rather just have off and high for both fans (and I'd rather not have to spend $60...). What do I need to get to do that?
So they cut out again.... This time I reprogrammed it and only plugged one fan back in (I haven't installed a relay yet). It worked for a while and just today even that failed. So there's another problem besides just needing a relay... :(
I vote MacBook. If you must go PC the Toughbooks look pretty nice. Some are really light weight too.
If there's one thing I learned the hard way about laptops at college it's light weight. I bought an 8-lb laptop and I wasn't able to bring it to class because it was too heavy and the battery...
Wrong. You can hook up a two-button mouse. Apple even makes one! If you happen to only have a one-button mouse you can Ctrl+Click to right click.
However I've found that the interface is well enough designed that I rarely have to "right click".
Um, sure. Except that Mac is BSD-based (which is Unix-based). Unix has been dealing with viruses and vulnerabilities for longer than Windows. It's a more secure model to begin with. Market share has little to do with it.
