Ahh, the stock HG. Honestly, since you're running a 7MGTE ECU I don't think you need to retard your base timing more than a couple degrees. From what I'm told, using the stock knock sensors with the SAFC is not going to give you a good indication of knock. Are you getting repeatable reading?
