    ................ does your tape measure measure to 0.0005"? mine doesn't. a good caliper is one of those tools you only need to buy once. it should last your lifetime, so it's worth buying if you need one.

    have you tested it in the car? im not trying to be an ass, but my ffim is of similar size, and mine was VERY close to hitting the hood. just something you should be aware of.

    when welding the valve covers, you need to be careful. its cast aluminum, so there are some small voids, and they can warp if you heat them too much
