I have 2 of the Autoloc modules that keith mentioned. My alarm can control them and both windows, up or down, AND I have the one-touch auto up/down features on both windows from inside.
Jdub, any idea why Toyota opted to pull such a very weak vacuum on the crankcase, instead of having a PCV valve create a strong vacuum like you mentioned?
Mine is mounted in the back corner near the wiper motor, and gets some heat from the turbo. But it still works 100% since I put the stainless wool and bottom hose in it.
Will that much runout damage the crank bearings? I don't have a tool to measure it, I'm just guessing by eye. I also think it has been like this for quite a while, and I only just noticed it.
I was under my car today while it was running, and I could see some runout/wobble in the rotating crank pulley, not sure, maybe 1mm? This engine in the past has had the bolt come loose and damage the key way. I checked it today and it was again needing to be retightend (wasn't loose enough to...
Thanks for the help guys, I got it sorted.
I got the new piece back from the machine shop today. I used a larger allen head rated stronger than Grade 8. I left more threads on the end of it and had to grind away at the turbine housing to get it in. I think these bolts just need to be really...
Just a quick side note, I put stainless steel wool in my GReddy catch can, and ran a oil safe hose to force the gases to the bottom of the can. My intake pipe has been 100% clean since.
If you're gonna run 20psi on pump, you'd better add a methanol kit. I run 21 psi daily, lovin it!
Still, that car must be amazing to drive with its weight and that power!
It's probably your diff that is broken, the JDM ones like yours are notoriously weak. I had the same diff in my car and when it broke, I could still drive it, only I was getting a strange vibration, and the side seals were leaking lots of oil because metal shavings were chewing them up. When I...
I tried Duane's sawblades, but they hit the calipers. I suppose I need a custom very low offset wheel in a 16" perhaps..
Does Mission raceway let you mix bias & radial tires?
The CT upgrades make good power up to 400, but the top end is really lacking compared to a bigger turbine housing like a T3 or T4. The powerband is not as wide and power fades a lot after 5000rpm.
What rims are they mounted on? Any idea what rims I'd need to clear my rear Mk4 TT brakes? I'm guessing I'll need a 17" MT ET street.
By the way, are the ET streets bias ply? It didn't say on their website.
The 57 makes very good power, and is already maxing out the stock compressor housing. The 60-1 is too large for the small CT26 housing, and makes only a little more power for a lot more lag and less reliability.
I also believe the 60-1 compressor wheel is an older garrett design with 7 blades...
My sensor just died from being too close to the turbo. I just bought one of these heatsinks to try to keep it cooler. It directs the gas over the sensor via the little internal ports.

Spraying methanol/water changes the tune, and you would want to at least have an SAFC to retune the car for the new fuel the meth adds.
But you could just use a smaller nozzle and spray only water to get some of the benefits and would not need a retune. The only real benefit you would get...
