Yep, on the race gas map, that massive turbo made it feel and sound like I was strapped into a rocket; it was incredibly fast, then the tires(drag radials) just exploded into smoke.... at half throttle! Lol :biglaugh: Wastegate didn't even open either.
Yep. Currently getting 15psi at 3600rpm, but I think once I set the valve to hold closed longer, I should get 15psi around 3300! This is with a .84 turbine and the larger 86mm exducer compressor (4mm larger than a GT35!)
Quick update: my dashpot mod setup has been 100% reliable. It is very nice to be able to blow off huge amounts of air and never have to worry at all about stumbling or stalling. I just drive normally.
In the video below, at 0:48, you can see how I go from 21psi full boost then instantly to...
Be careful, have a real close look at your top rad mounts. Mine were grounding out on the rad, the koyo mounts are too narrow. Mine suffered internal corrosion and had a good 20-30 tiny pinhole leaks.
It would be great to know how to just ground out the relay that's controlling it, I'm looking at the TSRM and it's not very clear. I'm assuming it is Fan relay #3 but I see no relay in that location on my '87. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=AC&P=30
The rad...
A few days ago I noticed that my A/C aux fan was working. Recently on a very hot day, I noticed it was not working.
How can I wire it up so it is on all the time whenever the A/C is on? I find that the performance of my air conditioning is not good enough at idle in slow traffic. My 3.5"...
Interested to know the details on your T4! I was actually going to suggest going T4 over a CT if you can afford it. The difference in power and top end of my current setup over the 57 trim CT is really huge.
It is an addiction. Coke or hookers might actually be cheaper :biglaugh:
I must admit, adding over 100hp with a bigger T4 turbo and methanol kit, along with 13" brakes all around has really transformed the car. It went from boring to drive, and unsafe to stop, to "holy shit this car rocks!"
At a local night meet, there was a pro photographer going around taking pics of some cars. He had a couple of guys holding remote flashes in each hand and took several fast pics in a row like a strobe light, while the guys moved the flashes around to get different effects. Here's a pic I found...
They are expensive, but you can still have high quality coilovers with adjustable shocks. Tein Flex with EDFC (electronic damping force controller). I cruise on the softest setting and crank up the firmness for aggressive driving.
When the master is drained completely, it needs to be bench bled, or it will likely have trapped air no matter how much you bleed the system. You can buy a bench bleeding kit for $5 to $10 at any auto parts store. During bench bleeding, my master took at least 30 pumps to get primed and to get...
Mine were 130-134, and I thought mine seemed low as well. But my engine burns very little oil and runs extremely well even at 21 psi. The previous owner added a metal head gasket that may have changed the compression slightly.
I think evenness between the numbers is most important.
Time for a new clutch if its slipping that easily! Were you bouncing off the rev limiter in each gear? Nice to see it pull so hard compared to such an expensive beast like a GTR.
