No I have not. With that being said, I do have a RHD assembly, which is backwards from LHD ones.
Damn, now I'm curious. I must make this work just to prove people wrong.
I know. I want a source for a 2nd switch so I can install one for the passenger window.
Yeah, I wanted to install two driver's side switches. The wiring's the easy part, I can install a 2nd stock controller for the 2nd window. As long as I can physically fit both switches into the switch...
YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON A 1JZ. Ignition is 100% computer controlled. There's no way you can fire on the wrong stroke. Go ahead, turn your crank 180*, it'll still work.
Around here, anything with a larger diameter outlet than stock is illegal. I believe there's a noise limit too.
It's such a gray law though. Police only seem to enforce it on civics. My friend got pulled over in his Sil80:
"That's a pretty loud muffler you have on there"
"Actually, it's a...
Fuel pressure should be 36psi at idle. Toyota's weird and runs the 1JZ lower than everyone else in the world (43psi)
What's the condition of the coil pack connectors? Are they cracked? Are you missing any of the locking clips? It sounds hard to believe, but it makes a big difference. A whole...
Is the soarer auto or 5 speed?
I would say cam the motor, ignore the lack of torque, and be happy with the gobs of high-end power. Also, if you thought your Supra was heavy, your Soarer is heavier. That's going to make a noticeable difference in acceleration.
If you REALLY want to make some...
The 1JZ CAN NOT be 180* off. That's only possible with a mechanically adjustable timing device. The 1JZ uses two cam sensors cast into the camshaft itself. It's physically impossible for them to activate on the wrong cycle.
It still sounds like you may be off a tooth with your timing though.
That's interesting. I wonder if the car either had an aftermarket dash, or if they bypassed the stock system, and put a sensor right on the transmission so they didn't have to deal with a speedo cable.
