    Head is aluminum, block is iron. The head will deform a lot more than the block ever will. When you go MHG, you re-surface the block more for the actual smoothness of the surface than anything else.

    I rev mine to 7500. A friend takes his up to 8k every once and a while. Benefits of 1.5JZ vs 2JZ, you can build up a 1JZ first, then increase the displacement without having to buy a new turbo manifold. You also have larger exhaust valves on the 1JZ.

    yeah, the covers are completely different. The 2JZ one also covers the cam gears, where as the 1J has a separate cover for that. The 1JZ one also extends behind to cover the ISCV air pipe.
