    i reuse them plus i use red loctite on the pp and fw. the 14ftlbs iirc just makes me worry to much. i never have problems breaking them loose either.

    was it with the car in neutral when you tried to turn it over? you might have seized the clutch. it might not be your motor. if it didn't spin in neutral then its definately you motor that is seized. :(

    yeah i barrowed my friends snap-on impact gun, cranked the pressure up on the compressor, and it cam right off. without anything securing the crank also. ^did you just end up torquing it on the car?

    i wouldn't call poping out of first driving fine, but yeah i bet you have the same problem just about every r154 is going to have. massive wear like i was saying causing too much play. i say just rebuild it. a used one is just going to do the same shit eventually especially if you making any power.

    yeah the bearing retainer for the input shaft bearing is pretty beefy so no need for a mc replacement. and the bearing itself is about the size of a hocky puck. lol. that why i don't see how it could bust.

    check the cooler lines. those spring clamps loose there bite after 20 years.
