sounds like turbo seals if it happens only when hes standing still for a long period of time. a bhg would be all the time and we would see other symptoms also i would think. also i agree with bic that it will smoke for a day or 2 before all the stuff in there settles and cures and burns off...
i have an evc 1 and no filters and its been working great now for some time.... what is the point of those filters other than to completely kill the stepping motor when they fail?

i think theres a guy running them here in dallas but they might be cyphers. but i do remember they are in that size and should fit no problem as i was thinkin about putting them on my car when he for something new.
