That's what happens with "NPT" threads....mass production usually varies in tolerance which will effect how many threads are exposed....it's normal aslong as it threads in enough to seal!
Torque wrench calibration is up too you....you dropped it so it's not craftsmens fault! There warrent covers manufacturer defects...so if the wrench broke while torquing a bolt then they cover it.
Of I melt my wrenches with a torche then they won't cover it...makes sense to me!
