Ok, its where the black fuse is, that section of the fuse box pulls up and is held in by little extensions or lips.
once you get that section of the fuse box up there are two screws right beneath the fusable link that hold it in. you take those out to slide the fusable link out..then you get a...
yes, its OEM....on the 89+ they changed it to a normal fuse.....when I had to change mine they kept telling me it wasnt suppose to be there...i got really frustrated with them and told them I know whats suppose to be on my car....I changed mine to a normall fuse. Its not hard if anyone wants to...
the fuse is going to blow wayy before the alt. would go....plus if the wires got that hot to go the wirecasing would burn causing black smoke and a bad smell and he would have deff. noticed that.
no prob:icon_bigg it will burn up, ive had the problem before....when mine burned up I just replaced it with one of the big square fuses. (Ill explain how to do it once you make sure thats it). the fusable link is on the left side of the fusebox...on the tob cover it says ALT where it should be.
Did you check the fusable link in the fuse box under the hood? its a small piece of wire that is actually a fuse....its to your alternator and with what your decribing that is prob. it. also the HEAD is not a fuse its a relay.
JJ's right its not hard....it just takes time. When you do it dont rush, take your time and put the different screws and nuts into baggies and label them so then you know where they go on reassembly. I did this when I changed mine and didnt have one bolt left over.
ok, it still could just be water, ALOT of dirt can get up there esp. after driving in the rain alot....the road grime gets thrown up there and sticks....but the only possible type of oil that could be around there is differental oil....you need to take that shroud off and look under it...you can...
now that I think of it, if hes new to supras or cars in general could he possibly made the mistake of thinking the tranny dipstick was the engine oil? thats the only thing that I can think of to where it would be towards the back but yet checking a dipstick and It being low....unless his engine...
also if your heater core is really old or is on its way out it will make the waterfall sound, mine made that sound for awhile and I suspected bhg because burping it didnt work and neither did anything else I tried, but no other signs of bhg I decied to change the heatercore... when I changed it...
he's right, if your leaking anything you dont go driving around thats a good way to make a problem even worse. The only things that could possibly be leaking from the rear of your car are: 1. Brake fluid 2. fuel 3. differential oil
did you smell it? was it thick or runny? or could you give some...
I just used the clear that comes in a can, i was too lazy to go out and use a gun.......whitch now i have access to a $400 devilbis (sp?) spray gun at my dads work...who knew a electrical systems specialist would have spray equipment lol. Used it to repaint my front bumper from rock chips and...
don't use primer....use an adhesive promoter it helps paint stick to fiberglass and plastic a lot better than normal primer, as far as the paint go I painted them with the car
