Alright guys I need some help. I'll give you alittle bit of history real quick first.

The car had a BHG. I got it replaced with an OEM gasket but nothing else...All I had done was a new hg (it only cost me 200). After that it was running great than a week after I heard the waterfall behind the dash (I was expecting it). The car was recently sniffed and turned out all good, the mechanic suggests there is nothing wrong with the car. So I picked it up yesterday...start it no waterfall noise. I just drove it alittle again and no waterfall noise.

Now the question would it be safe/should I drive it this week until Thursday?

Thanks
Josh

Burp your system, that would get rid of the waterfall if you don't have a BHG. If a mechanic checked the system I would beleive him.

I come from a land down under
When you fill a 7M you need to set the heater to HOT to let it fill.

You need to keep a close eye on the coolant EACH MORNING before you start the motor topping up as needed while any air in the system bleeds out.

So I take it when your burping it you turn your heater as hot and as fast as it can go?

burping consists of jacking the front of the car up as high as it can go, then start the car with the heater on hot/high and the radiator cap off. it should let the air in the heater core out, and just watch the coolant level filling as needed.

You probably still have air in your system from the BHG repair...

If there aren't any leaks in your cooling system, and everything is working the way it should, then the air should work its way out over time...

A pressure test wouldn't be a bad idea...

I would keep driving it if it isn't overheating or anything, and just keep your eye on the coolant level.

Thanks man

Thats what I was thinking....I'm still getting it replaced the right way this weekend I hope.

Another question..Should I get my bearings replaced while I get a mhg? Alot of people say you don't need to but isn't there a risk of Rod Knock?

Do this ASAP!
If coolant got into the oil, it will harm the bearings very quickly. IJ is telling you to make darn sure there is no residual coolant in the oil. Change the filter too!

Alright will do before the next time I drive it when I'm not sick.
also if your heater core is really old or is on its way out it will make the waterfall sound, mine made that sound for awhile and I suspected bhg because burping it didnt work and neither did anything else I tried, but no other signs of bhg I decied to change the heatercore... when I changed it I never heard it again.
