    Datsun @26psi VS Datsun @18psi Both 7MGTE

Really we were just getting on the freeway and I fired up my digital camera in video mode, sorry about the shakeyness I had to shift. Cliftons Z pulls pretty good on mine, with 8 more psi. I have more video from this evening, I just have to get it converted. Me vs. a Ferrari 430, the guy was...

washed engine- car sounds like a lawn mower.

THE FIRING ORDER IS 153624 NOT 153642 Also having the spark plugs mixed up usually produces a back fire or a violent knock or a poor idle. I know the (incorrect) 153642 firing order usually produces a poor idle until revved a little then it appears (under no load) to be fine. Once...

    Aftermarket oil pressure gauge install.

All the Pipe thread fittings on the block are BSP (British Standard Pipe) all of the domestic gauges sold have NPT (National Pipe Thread) They differ from each other in a bunch of little ways. The major difference from each other is their "tooth valley" included angle and the fact that NPT has...

Dream night racing TT Viper vs. Datsun vs. BPU Viper

His wife and my wife were barking orders and we were more than an hour late getting out of the house. We were less than a mile away (but trapped on the freeway with 4 miles to go to the next exit) when we realized we had forgotten the camcorder. I was really bummed we didn't get it on film...

Dream night racing TT Viper vs. Datsun vs. BPU Viper

A friend and someone else completely unrelated, recently asked me about this event and I figured I better document it before I forget any of the details (Like that would ever happen). Either way I never wrote about it before so hear it is. On a Holiday weekend a while ago I got to race a...

    wilwood big brakes

The surface area is so much greater you can keep doing it much more frequently than you can with the stock caliper and rotors. Try it yourself take your race pads on your stock calipers and get the car up to 80-90 mph and haul it down to 5 mph, floor it back up to 80-90-100mph and do it again...

Let's just say you had a 7MGTE laying around, what car would you put it in?

Its a minimalist chassis for sure, but by no means does it NEED any frame work. I didnt do anything to the chassis. People claim all sorts of things, and tons of wifes tails about twisting frames, its all crap. As long as you start with a good rust free chassis (which is actually kinda rare)...

    wilwood big brakes

Sorry about the knee jerk, response, in re-reading the entire post I see that, all of your questions werent directed at my Brake kit. Still I would have liked the opportunity to help you solve this issue before it was broadcast publicly. I would still look very closely at the torque value on...

    Q45 TB

After the exit immediately out of the turbo every ounce of my plumbing is 3 inches in diameter. EXCEPT the thottle body, and Im not ready for a throttle body yet. Its just not that much of a bottle neck. That might be the case with NA plumbing, but a lot of little things can be overcome by...

    Q45 TB

I know a few people making 500+ on a stock TB. Greater gains can be had in many other places before you actually NEED a bigger throttle body.

    stacked headgaskets

VDUB guys have been doing it for years. A friend of mine did it with stock head bolts (higher torque though) for quite a while +1 year I think, and ran + 16 psi on a big turbo. LOL

washed engine- car sounds like a lawn mower.

Chances are you did several things wrong. First of all dont take the plugs out, take the plug wires out. Take the valley cover off and blow comnpressed air in there until its dry, I repeat DONT TAKE THE PLUGS OUT if you think there is water in the valley. 2nd you probably got multiple...

Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

I worked fro GM for 4 years, I saved money on several different programs, $.05 on a water pump casting, collaborated on an exhaust manifold and heat shield design, Supercharger intake manifold design, 3.8 liter fresh air inlet, and tons of other little things like that. GM and my bosses were...

Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

Removing the guide would put the oil pump shaft in single shear. I wouldnt recommend it. I dont think I would consider this a problem, since the end fits into the guide by design, how much oil couild possibly be lost. Also how do we know the Oil pump drive gear could live with the lubrication...
