Ha well two things are wrong here. (: I was asking about if there were engine benefits, sorry if I didn't come out and say that. Second, the car can still be started by you the clutch pedal, but if you hold the switch it can be started without the clutch pedal too. Both safety features are still...
Is bypassing the Neutral safety switch good? What I want to know is and this is what I heard I could be 100% incorrect, but cars with heavier pressure plate can cause strain on a " cold " start and can wear thrust washers, would take a substantial amount of time.
Thanks for reading I hope to...
It honestly is not to bad if you just lift it and get some room. Maybe take the down pipe off to make room. I had no problem doing the lower oil pan, and then the upper is not hard either.
What you can do is:
Take off the motor mounts bolts and a few other parts, lift the motor up about 4 inches or more and you can do it that way too. I did the lower oil pan gasket that way no issues. You should be able to get both off. If you want to remove it go for it.

Did you just put this car together? I have seen that when you put it together oils may get on the manifold and cause smoke, if not then you may be leaking from somewhere.
I once put a cltuch in back words, not good. Check your flywheel bolts to see if there is any scaring? I did this no a 1jz once, I thought wrong, pulled it back out, flipped it and i was fine.
