Carbon is safer when it fails, but it will fail easier as they're quite fragile :( Road debris can and will scratch the driveshaft, and that will cause a failure of a carbon unit.
I dunno about the "hanger lag" since there's a ton of performance cars running 2 piece driveshafts...
Keep in mind they're not that fast from a roll, they depend on the holeshot to win. Still pretty cool, though you could make your own just better (any 4x4 blazer + oldsmobile bravada AWD transfer case + grand national motor)
Yeah, I have a ton of parts sitting around to do this myself. Sadly, the condenser I have isn't parallel flow (same company, just before they made the better one :( )
Yeah, not going to get much colder because of the way the system works to stop it from freezing up. Good job though, wonder what it would have done with R-134....
As already said, use something like WD-40 to unstick the rings. Do you have any pictures so we can see how bad it is?
Crank is indeed forged. If you have to replace pistons, forged pistons aren't much more than cast, and they're good insurance. Stock rods are quite strong as well if they're...
Yeah, it's not really much of an arm rest. If you put weight on it, it WILL break. If the outside isn't messed up, you could simply fiberglass the back.
