if you got a r-154 the speedo cable should be the same throughout all the years there are 2 cables the long one from the cluster all the way down by the bellhousing which is the same for auto and 5 speed, then from there to the transmission, but if you got a automatic, the lower cable should be...

yes their are many guys on the forum that have done it including me, i believe bosch has a o2 sensor that is also 3 wire and you can weld a bung on the dp to use that sensor

there should be a metal vacume tube that goes around the block, where one of the source is, then the 2nd one goes onto the according hose, on the underside so you won't be able to see unless you take it off
