Shimming your hood?

Some of my friends own some nice Honda's and I noticed they shim their hoods. I would assume just adding spacers to raise the hood?

It looks good on their cars but I'm not sure how good it would look on a MKIII Supra.
Anyone have pics of their cars with the hood shimmed? They also told me it helps get alot of hot air out, which interests me big time.

Hmm, well, I was going to try my hand at photoshop to see what it would look like, but it wouldn't take long to just throw a few washers in...

Like I said, I'm not sure if it would look good, just seeing who has done it and what it looks like... If I don't like it, I'll ditch that idea lol.

Changes the airflow through the engine bay at speed

Run the risk of oil/coolant and crap on the screen if something lets go

Looks like some tard can't align it properly

Spoils the classic non ricer lines of the care. ;)

Well, I can see people doing it if they actual track their cars but I don't know why someone would ever wanna do it for looks...

Meh, if I were to do it, it wouldn't be for looks. I kinda just wanted to let some excess hot air out, which is why my friends did it.

And I don't do that whole "JDM" thing, I do what looks good, not what looks gaudy...

don't get why people would raise the hood, when they can just rip the weather stripping out? it's the same thing, either way, once you do that you will smell a lot of stuff coming out from the engine bay

Yea, it's a MKIII Supra, I smell alot of things from it, some I wish I hadn't smelled (cough* coolent cough*) but it happens lol.
