Ive come to a cross road, the mounts with the car are shot and Ive decided to got BiC brackets and poly mounts. I have two crossmembers 89+ and pre-89, which crossmember makes life a little bit easier as faar as manitenance? I noticed the pre 89 sits the engine higher and the 89+ is a little lower and back. Any input?

I have never heard of either needing maintenance. If I were you, I would just put the newer one in.

Let me rephrase, which mounts would be better for general mantenance purposes? Such as oil changes, which mounts tend to hold up better,...things such as that.

pre 89 mounts are solid. 89+ mounts are liquid filled (tend to die faster) as for which cross member to use......

the BIC mounts come in a pre89 form and an 89+ form. which did you order???? then you'll know which xmember to use.

I was thinking of going with the 98tt motor mounts if I stick with the 89+, if I go pre-89 is was going to get the poly mots from bic. Im trying not to go solid as long as possible, from what Im reading they arent what you want for a DD.

BIC said himself he prefers pre 89 square mounts. i would want poly round mounts with my 89+ the solids are a pretty harsh ride but it really isnt as solids in a civic or something

I have the pre 89 cross member with the bic mounts and I prefer it over examining the 89+ mounts.. As others have said, if you're not one way or the other and you have the means, then why not.

The best motor mounts and crossmember is the 86.5-89.5 they are solid and way stronger, cheaper they dampen motor vibrations less but you have less flex & play in your engine bay.

most people running more then 500hp will tell you to use the solids the liquid ones tear up easy and cost about 90$ each from toyota.

if you dont believe me hook an engine hoist up to the engine of your car alone lift your whole car by the engine and jump up and down on the front of your car the liquid ones will go probley with out even jumping on your car the solid one will out hold.
