    t-67 R ct-26 upgade on ebay

This has been brought up before, but I won't ding you for it. For the quick answer - stay FAR FAR AWAY from that. The little ct26 housing is no where near large enough to handle the volume that wheel puts out. Not to mention the turbine of the ct26 really doesn't have the proper torque to turn...

Not much to add to your thought process other than this: The Duramax VGT turbos have this "homing process" you speak of, every time you turn the key on, engine off. This keeps the veins of the VGT system clean and free from soot. The Ford 6.0 VGT turbos DO NOT have this "homing process" you...

    Turbo Upgrade Parts

The Garrett wheel will either be "stepped" on the bottom or "dished". The ct26 setup uses a very unique recessed design.

    i need YOUR innovation!!

First, you'll need one of these. You'll need to use it like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNePrGR1D-s And then you'll need to follow along here, for using the AN style fittings: http://www.summitracing.com/expertadvice/slideshow.aspx?StoryId=56af17e7-5fe2-4977-8013-42508f100fff...

    Turbo Upgrade Parts

Chris, you're barking up a tree that most people won't tell you any thing about. Its because the info you're looking for is closely guarded as to what makes a turbocharger rebuilder successful. You'll need to get the clearance as tight as possible, lets put it that way. The closer it is, the...

    i need YOUR innovation!!

In the past I just cut the bottom steel hard line, flared the line, then made an AN fitting style, braided steel hose to go to the fuel rail. DO NOT USE RUBBER HOSE AND HOSE CLAMPS for the replacement of this part.

Which turbo has the most bang for the buck?

This is the mother of all opened ended questions for the week. Bang for the buck? 57 trim bold on ct26. Either rebuilt ct26 or a JT56 which is built off a t4 platform. Personally Id go for the JT56 as the t4 bearing housing has a much better oiling system. If you had more money (manifold or...

    Turbo Carnage! / Upgrade Discussion

Although I agree with Ian's comments on oil pressure & return, Id like to see the guts of the turbocharger itself. This will tell me more about what happened inside. Just from looking now, either the shaft itself was at the end of its cycle life, the wheel failed either due to casting, FOD...

The stock setup has the controller on the turbo itself IIRC. That electro-mechanical system then talks to the computer on board. Take a look at Fleece Performance here in Indiana. He has created a vane interface controller. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EDCKvkQoaE...

And you never thought of running a different BOV? You just assumed this "flutter" was normal and continued on your way? That turbo you see there is built off a t4 bearing housing. The 60 trim is a good flowing, mild wheel with a fairly forgiving compressor map. Much more forgiving than the...

    Turbo Carnage! / Upgrade Discussion

There you go folks. Ignorance is NOT bliss. Prime example of why a potential problem should have been investigated. Since the problem was not investigated, the user now has "turbo carnage" and doesn't trust the "rebuilt turbocharger" when, most likely, it was not the turbocharger that caused its...

Which Turbo Turbonetic 60-1 or t04e?

Really doesn't tell me much about the t4 turbo. Any who, the 60-1 appears to be your better bet. The 60-1 will put you in your power goals that you're looking for.

No not at all. Some of the VGT systems can see up to 5-9lbs of pressure in the manifold at idle. Although on a diesel, have seen one idle (500-800rpm) @ 4 psi on the boost gauge.

We need to know the size of the turbine wheels in both turbo, and the size of the compressor wheel in the To4e please.

If I had to guess, I would say an out of balance condition or a bad compressor wheel casting (yes, sometimes it does happen).
