Some new stuff to report!

Car has been driving nicely and hasn't given me any major trouble :D

Tune seems solid enough, although pretty rich and non-optimized when in boost. Cruise AFR's are much better than they were, and my economy is coming back (as long as I don't step down often :p )

New stuff! 2nd wastegate spring has been instaled since the 7psi one couldn't get above 19 psi. WG boost is now 16psi and have had it up to 22 and oh my, this car is becoming silly...

Also installed the Q45 throttle bosy to get that cold start fast idle function, the pedal feels much firmer than the stock TB, but I kinda like it.

Pics will come tomorrow when the new tires go on!

Good progress! Looking forward to what YOUR 67mm puts out with that setup! I can believe the "car is becoming silly..." when up and into the 20psi range! Can't WAIT to actually push that pressure on mine one of these days... heck, I think 18psi gets silly!:biglaugh:

I just got back from doing the USA's first Powercruise! It was an absolute blast and I am going back again next year! The Supra ran great the first two days but at theend of the second day heat was becoming an issue. Turned out to be particles plugging the tubes in the radiator, so that's all flushed out now and it'll get a proper chemical flush tomorrow. Now for the list of stuff I killed doing evrything I wanted to do (running the 3.1 road course/drag racing/drifting/burnouts/etc)

1- Plugged Radiator
2- Jammed radiator cap
3- R-154 more dead 2nd and 3rd synchros are very bad
4- shredded PS belt
5- damaged rear driveshaft section (rubber bonded tube twisted)
6- Fan clutch blown
7- ARZ front rotors warped (may be wheel bearings/hubs, need to check later)
8- Rear rotors warped
9- Trans output seal leaking
10- some sort of ignition breakup above 20psi boost- might be plugs, might be coil/wires, might be ignitor. Need to check.

Pictures!
Wheel were shiney and clean to start with...

I will have some Go Pro videos up when I get the files from the computer I dumped them onto in between runs (4gb=1 hour of 720p, I have a lot of space eaten up on Joel's computer lmao )

You running a new harness? That blue plug looks awfully nice.

That blue color on the wastegate looks sick.

Yep, got a new 89 harness with the AEM when I bought it from Nashman. It was a very pricey combo, but I don't regret buying it or modifying it at all!

Wowie! That's quite the list of boo-boos. I would be most surprised of it was the ARZs that are bad - they must be new enough to still have a warranty!

I'm thinking those rotors are not the "likely" culprit for some "shimmy" up front... but I'm curious. I have a LITTLE shimmy but I'm pretty sure I didn't have my shop adequately clean under the hats first, so any minor contaminant or non-flush seating MIGHT have left a little run-out variance on mine. It's livable and I'll be doing a freshen up next time I pull them apart for some service. I've read enough on whether these warp or not to be a bit skeptical, especially considering how robust they are next to other BBK rotors I've seen.

Let us know if you DO find some issue with warping and what kind of driving, etc... caused it. (I'm also suspecting some of my front steering mechanicals might need replaced to "snug" everything up.

I've experienced 3,6,9 and 10 myself! DOH! (Are you sure it's not "spark blow-out" instead of ignition break-up at 20psi?) I put some good fresh plugs in and solved my "break-up/blow-out" issue on mine at psi ranges in the upper teens...

G/L with all!

Thanks guys, we'll see if new gapped plugs solves the breakup issue tonight, I'm going up on the dyno (lets hope it actually happens this time) so we'll see what WG power is at and see if I can hold the 25 I was running all of Saturday!

As for the brakes, I pounded the lug studs out to completely clean the hub face to prevent that exact situation, Chris! I'll be checking all the brakes out, likely replacing the rear rotors and a complete front end teardown with runout check on everything- I wouldn't be surprised if I needed two new front wheel bearings and hubs!

That said, TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Ah, I love how the exhaust manifold rotates the turbo, I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't track one down for my install. As far as the brake rotors are concerned, any chance you were on the brake pedal for too long after hot lapping?

I see you're using the stock linkage for the Q45 TB too...good choice.

Great looking build.

Not too sure, I tried to give the brakes lots of cooldown time on the cooldown laps, as well as trying to stay off of it when going slow when they were hot- heck, it might not even be the brakes!

As for the Q45, all I wanted was the fast idle part of it, didn't car if it was 90mm or 60mm. ;)

Dyno operator was saying he thought the clutch may have been slipping- I can't confirm so I'll just upgrade it once I land a new transmission :bigthumb:
