It must be the extra 167hp your car makes over mine that is giving you an EDGE in forum response time... as we owners tend to emulate the behavioral performance tendencies of our cars after awhile... (Hence, a bunch of people in here "drooling" a lot as well, which is a by-product of BHG on their cars, perhaps?:biglaugh:)

^^^ Of course, I certainly respect and would expect that. Any consideration if appropriate is appreciated... heck, aren't we ALL in the game at some point or another looking for a freakin' TRANNY that will hold!:1zhelp:

well, the camero has issues...didnt notice them the first time around but the whole rear of the car, both qtrs, decklid and doors have all been re-painted and not very well. and when i crawled under it one frame rail has undercoat on it....fucking idiots....always repair in a symmetrical fashion boys'n'girls otherwise its obvious. carfax shows nothing so it was a light hit... but the dealership wont move on the price...

steve... i still plan to sell my supra... il pm you with some trans details...im done spending money on this pit...so i think im gonna leave it auto. id like to clear some room and recoup some cash

Pictures time, gather 'round kids ;)

Old RBJ Driveshaft= dead(ish) made a real odd harmonic at ~45-75
p1747157_1.jpg

New Jawsgear AL: sexytime and light!
p1747157_2.jpg

New transmission: still in packaging
p1747157_3.jpg

Driveshaft is in and works fine. Nothing crazy about operation aside from slightly increased driveline noise on hard acceleration, but no vibration and the harmonic is gone :D Going to make some nice hoops tomorrow just in case, plus I think they're needed to pass tech.

I just got thru all 50+ pages of your build and have to say I'm impressed! I also live in the twin cities and have a pretty similar build in progress right now. Im currently working on rewiring for sequential injection, dh61 and cop ignition while machine shop takes it's sweet ole time on my shortblock! I'll keep following your build, and may have a ? or 2 for you along the way. Keep up the good work it's inspiring!

So apparantly the limit of my Cometic 2mm was 564hp...

That, or the blockage of the radiator did more damage than was initially thought. Oh well, just gotta take 'er down and find out what happened! Good time for headwork ;)

That's what it looks like right now, more testing tonight- could even be a cracked head/block. Gauge didn't show the temp increase, too much air getting pushed through the system. We shall see!

:biglaugh: I'm kind interested to see if the pistons have taken any damage the whole time its been together! I mean, the tune with Shane was safe at 17-18 psi, and when I got the big turbo, it did 20 out of the box without knock control/a proper tune... Kind excited to tear it down and see stuff

If it needs work, I'll likely pull the engine to get the block shaved by the place that did Drew's. That surface finish was sexytime! Might have that Einer(sp?) take a look at my original 91 head do a little P&P... I'd like to put that one back on as long as its not garbage. Something about all original parts makes me happy inside.

Crap man.

Wait wait, did you boost your car without knock control and tune when you put the new turbo on?

Shoots, I have an alarm set on my Autometer peak gauges, expensive gauges too, to alarm me as soon as I hit will hit positive pressure as I am still on the break in period.....well, waiting on the turbo.

There are a lot of things that may/may not have played a part in the failure- even the RA of the block/head may have been inadaquate for a perfect seal with the mhg. We'll see when it comes apart. Heck it could be something freaky too, like a cracked head!
