I'd say so . What size are the stock ARP's in the eagle rods John? Haven't some people mentioned them being the weak point in the rod's setup, and upgrading to a larger size would cure the problem?

PT67 and 680s on the way to me... Gonna be ordering the 272 BC cams on Tuesday, as well as a T4 tubular manifold/downpipe.

Looks like I'll just be waiting on pistons... hence the GB on the Probe Pistons!

Ok, head is off the Cressida 7M - oddly enough, it seems someone actually cared about this motor. I found newer Toyota wires, Toyota timing belt (in amazingly good condition) - the actual NGK laser's spec'd for the 7M, and amazingly enough - no bhg!

So anyway, I'm going to disassembly the bottom end tomorrow. There will be an intake manifold, head+cams, and late model block for sale soon... I need to update my sale thread anyway!

BTW, the ARP2000s in the Eagle Rods ARE 3/8"! They are NOT 5/16" bolts. Damn happy for that

Also, since these are aftermarket cap screws - nothing really stopping me from taking these Eagle rods and installing some even stronger bolts - *if* I were going for massive power

I'll have more pics and initial measurements of the build tomorrow.

Oh that? Heh.. traded the 57 trim CT26 for it Also traded new 550cc injectors for new 680cc injectors.

Starting cleaning the engine bay out... ewww rust - aka Cancerous Oxide. Gonna have to do something about that - it was hidden under my battery tray!

Crank looks pretty good! Was that out of the engine or did you have it machined?

That's the crankshaft out of the 7MGE I pulled out of the junkyard!

You know, I've been thinking on it, and i think I'm going to go ahead and yank the nose back off the car. I've never really re-done an engine bay before, and well - I want my Supra to be especially nice.

I'm thinking I'm going to re-wire the car, relay the headlights, improve the grounding system, *and* repaint the engine bay

Heh.. pulled an almost perfect crank from the u-pull-it, swapped a set of 550s for 680s, swapped a 57 trim for a PT67, swapped a MAFT-Pro for a TEC-2 - all even trades.

So... should I just spray the engine pay with regular paint? Does it need clearcoating? is there a special high temp paint I need to look for?

I'm painting mine with the color I'm painting the car, and be prepared for an engine bay that a bunch of random shit that sucks when it come to painting...I hated it.
