Spent the evening pulling throttle cables out of camrys, I got one from a 94, one from a 96 and one from a 97. The 97 one is a little longer, we'll see what fits.

I finally got the turbo mounted and oil lines all situated, I'll have to get some pics and post them. I'm really happy with how everything looks and fits.. even the MKIV downpipe fits without hitting the firewall! All I'll have to do is weld it to the bottom half of my DP!

anways.. here's a pic from just after we got the engine in and manifold on

I spy a 7M CPS, did you cut the new slot yet? I was thinking anout drawing up a template to make it easier to layout where to cut. Mine didn't turn out too bad, but I started off with the slot too close to the shaft and had to widen it quite a bit to get it to work.

Did you just tap the fuel rail for the return line? What size? I went out and got a fitting for the stock regulator, but that won't last me for long.

Yes, I drilled and grinded out the slot for the CPS, luckily I got it right on target first try.

For the fuel rail I tapped it with a 12mmx1.25 tap so it would be like the stock 7M fuel rail.. I'll be using my Aeromotive AFPR kit w/ this setup. This size tap was very hard to find.. I eventually found it at pep boys. Driftmotion also carries them.

I just started taking my 7MGTE out and making room for the same project. Hope mine looks like yours in a couple months. Good Luck!!

Hey man, I eventually want to go standalone.. or maybe now? I'm not quite sure lol. I'm 100% possitive I'll be able to use the 7M wiring and ECU with the 2JZ with no problems.. my only concern is if I incorporate the MAF from my MAF-T into my IC piping then it's just one more thing I have to change when I go to the MAP based standalone. The MAF-T has shown no limits for my tuning, but I think its a good time to get away from the 7M ECU. I just need some more money. So far I'm leaning towards the Stinger, unfortuntely it won't be Pn'P since Driftmotion is only making harnesses for 89+ cars, and I'm not about to switch. At least I don't have to wire anything into the body :)

Good to hear that you are confident in using the 7M wiring harness, cuz thats what I am aiming for too. Just curious where and how much did you buy your 2JZGE for?

I believe a harness from an early 89 would allow you to use an 89+ ECU solution and still plug into your early style chassis wiring.

thats not a bad idea, it's too bad I already started wiring.

I have a question for you supra87t, you said that your alternator plugged right into your 7M wiring harness.. well this is my problem. My 7M wiring harness has a large round plug on it... the 2JZ alternator is a rectangular plug with three wires going to it. My 2JZ wiring harness doesn't have the plug on it for whatever reason.. I double, triple, etc. checked, even took the alternator off the car and tried matching up plugs that looked similar. No luck. Must be on the SC300 body harness. I was wondering if your 7M harness was one with the rectangular style connectors, so I know I can make a thread in WTB for the later style alternator plug.

I've never seen a 7M with a rectangular plug. Must be different between the SC300 and the MKIV. The connector would come from the chassis side, not the engine wiring harness.

like this

and it comes out the "side" of the alternator by the battery cable stud, right?

Mine is like this

I found these pics on napa for a 94 SC300 (round) and 95 SC300 (oval) mine was supposed to be from a 95, but had the round style. By the napa catalog it looks like a 94 supra has the oval style.

EDIT:
It looks like these are the two styles of alternators

If you have the 2jz TSRM you can look up every connector and order the appropriate one by part number. You can download the TSRM - just look around for it.
