The TPS could just need adjusted, it is a wear item, but if it's not adjusted right could cause your problem.http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=FI&P=37
That's how to check it.
Or the timing belt not installed right. Did you turn the motor over a couple of times when you installed the timing belt by hand and check the marks again?
Sounds like RK to me.
It can be rebuilt probably, I had one that thru the rod, still rebuilt it. You really won't know until it's it's tore down how bad things are.
Sure wouldn't be running it any until you find out, could throw the rod and cause a lot more damage.
Yeah Finnon, I think you got more to worry about than a short shifter, sorry man.
Don't run it too much more, don't want the rod to come loose, or mess the crank up anymore than it is.
Use washers to shim the pressure relief spring. Just get the right size to fit sung in the hole and stack them enough to equal 5mm. You need the hole in the center from what I've seen.
Thanks for the correction Jdub. I knew about the MHG just thought the stock HG has enough sealant to take care of the small imperfections, thought I had read somewere here not to use copper on the stock one.
If it over heated again, may have warped the head. You can some what check it yourself with a straight edge and feeler gauges as outlined in the TSRM. Best to take it to a shop and let them check it out. you can take it to a machine shop yourself. If it has been machined several times, I'd say...
Sounds like you have a short somewere. Check all your wires for one maybe frayed, insulation stripped off around something metal, etc. The wires get old and the insulation gets a little brittle.
Have you checked the timing marks on the cam gears and crank pulley are were they are suppose to be, #1 on TDC and the rotor pointing at #1 spark plug wire?
Have you checked the timing belt and made sure the marks line up per TSRM?
How old are your plug wires?
And the FP does seem a little low, maybe with in spec though.
Could be improper installation of the belt, it has to be turned over a couple of revolutions by hand then checked for the marks to line up. Shouldn't be necessary to change all the gears. CRE did have the washers on the crank gear come loose, they are just tacked in place.
