Good one Grim, don't think anybody has gotten it yet :)
I think also you can see if it can be saved with replacing the bearings, you'd know if you can when you drop the pan.
It's called a blown head gasket. You are probably looking at a complete rebuild. There are plenty of threads here just search. Look in the stickies too. Goo luck and let us know what you find. Pics say a thousand words :)
If you want to replace the cap get it from the dealer, the one's at the auto parts stores are not reinforced and will blow again, been there done that :)
The intake tube, which one are you looking for? I might have one or you can post in the "Wanted to buy" section, I'm sure there are a few...
Yeah the cams look like they were steam cleaned:)
I'd check the oil out to see how bad it is, you might get more of a idea of what to do next. You might luck out and the bearings maybe not so bad.
If you don't have the hose on there that goes to the intake pipe, it goes to the power steering actuator on top of the PS pump, then you have a big vac leak. You have to either hook up the hose or plug the hole in the pipe for now.
If you take a look at my "profile", like that IJ? It's more than you have listed for the mods you are considering. I haven't dynoed yet with the Maft-Pro, I'd guess with my "butt dyno" about 235-240 RWHP. Higher compression means higher octane fuel, you wouldn't be able to run on mid-grade. I...
I guess I'm not using the right term. My user name I ahould have said, it gives the profile and my list of mods. Didn't know you've been keeping such a close eye on me, thought that was CRE's job :)
If you didn't re-torque then it may not be sealed. Suppose to re-torque after about 5-8 heat cycles. Low compression may cause the harder starting. What did you torque the head too?
Did you check/replace the vac hoses?
Well get crackin'...I'm finally caught up with the last bunch of updates :)
Yes if you can afford it the Maft-Pro is the way to go. Also if you are thinking of going turbo at some point, it's a great add on.
Normal but avoidable. CRE has a write up on it how to get rid of the codes. I'll try to find it.http://www.fadingworld.com/Supra/Electrical/MAFT%20Pro/MAFTwriteup/7M-XXX/MAFT%20Pro%20and%20Codes.html
