t78 is worlds apart from the 3076.
The T78 will make 750whp, and come on ~ 5k rpms and It is an older design. Compared to the 3076 it will have a lot of lag.
I want to control the WOT shift points, gear selection, and converter lockup to my liking.
AEM EMS controls the mkiv trans perfectly fine (same gear selection setup, 2 solenoids), only need to wire in a relay for the converter lockup (aem ems isn't strong enough iirc).
Anyone should be able...
Well, I finally opened the hood on the supra and notice some oil residue around the fan and the clutch seemed to slip easily, so figure its time for to replace it.
But now where to get a replacement? From an autoparts store (Advanced/Autozone), or should I spend the extra $100 for the dealer...
Rpms will drop the same no matter what rear end ratio you're running
My old 67 on my 1j would surge a bit in 5th ~ 4000-4500
I'm talking more of highway runs then anything.
But if you have a 3.91 or a 4.30 its much more likely you'll be shifting to 5th in a 1/4 mile run if youre making power...
wow, the drop in rpms is a lot more then I expected. It pretty much makes 5th useless except for cruising.
Time to get a antisurge cover if youre going to use this with a big turbo.
Put it on the dyno and see what a/f the car is happy at. Dont worry about the a/f # too much. The o2 sensor reads lambda, so rich on the gas a/f scale is rich on the meth a/f scale.
IMO run straight meth, none of that mix BS.
The nozzle placement has more to due with atomization rather then cooling. The actual effect is mostly inside the combustion chamber, keeping the heat down and adding octane (meth) allowing to run more boost.
Its not horrible. My car is fine, probably blows ~ 50 after it cools (a few minutes of driving). Its still very comfortable with the sun beaming on you (no tint) here in FL, even sitting in traffic.
