No kidding. You won't last long here if you can't take a little. Plus, it's true. If they don't know the conversion for how much to put in, they probably aren't competent enough to work on AC. I know I wouldn't let em work on mine, thats for damn sure.
Doward, I think you opened up a can of worms here man. Any news from mods on starting a possibly GB? With a deposit and then final payment when you have the stuff?
Any ballpark estimate on price for your rebuild Doward? I could do it myself, but if you don't want to rape me on cost, I'd love to have it done by someone who has cracked a 154 open before. I don't mind building trannys, but this one will catch hell, and I don't want it breaking on me.
I'd be interested in a set for sure. What do you do when you blueprint it all? Just tighten all clearances up, or what? Curious, as it means different things to different people.
I'd be interested as well, as I planned on picking up an extra 154 and building it for that nice tight feel again. Are their going to be any bearing changes, or just the gear? I also would like to know if any Toyota SST's make it easier, as I think I could gain access to them if it makes it...
Wasn't their a more in depth fix for the hatch? I've got ater coming in that sits on top of my hatch trim until I pop the hatch, so I need to figure it out and fix it soon.
I wouldn't be fooling around with a gauge set and vacuum pump doing trial and error in your AC. EPA says that is a big no-no. Regardless of what refrigerant you are using if you vent it more than they feel is an acceptable loss you will get a 10K+ fine, per incident. Also, I would too stay...
If he had the rotors replaced the E-brake shoes could very well be out of adjustment. I'd look there first, and if you are adjusting back at the shoe, make sure the handle is as loose as possible so that you will regain your handle adjustment after the shoe is tight for fine tuning. Because I...
My opinion is that not retrofitting it to R134 would make the biggest difference. Line size and all that crap will not have that much affect. Either get a shop to put R12 in it, take the 609 certification threw ASE so that you can buy your own R12, or buy something like Freeze 12 that the...
Just bumping this us to remind everyone that this is only going on for another week as of today. It's a damn good deal. My total bill was right at $26, thats a $24 savings. I have 15 quarts and 3 filters now, and will probably grab at least 5 quarts and a filter if not 10 quarts and 2 filters...
The EGR is adding inert gas (exhaust) The USDM ecu is tuned for t and as a result adds less fuel during the EGR range. However, the JDM ECU is not and it adds more fuel. More fuel with less air means richer.
It IS illegal to buy or posess R12 without an EPA permit. They will tear you to pieces if they find out you tried to service your own stuff. And that shit is COLD. It makes R134 look like lava when it gets on your skin. Take it to someone that knows what they are doing, especially if you...
