Wish I would have known people have been doing just a bulkhead in the bottom of the tank for a sump without problem before I sumped my tank. I ended up using a bolt on sump, so I drilled a 3" hole, and holes for the bolts. Ended up leaking a bit, so gotta pull it off and redo the seal. Damn sump...
Called a tech at permetex, and got this information about three or four weeks ago when sumping my tank.
hp thread sealent 56521 -Thread sealent
perma shield 85420 -gasket maker
And he said the red permatex thread locker is safe for e85.
Of course you want to let everything cure first before...
Ended up hooking it into the "c" plug along with boost control. I used a switch to ground at pin pw1. Works well so far. Just need to get a rough tune and I'll be good to go.
If you take into account the buy back fees, and the salvage title, it really isn't worth all that much. It may be a low mile car, but it still is a mkiii supra.
IMO get it registered and pay the registration fees, then you can get a better idea on how much it would be worth, because I know that...
Thanks man. I put a lot of time into it. I wanted to make it so I could remove it easily if needed. Sounds amazing. Before playing around with supras my first car love/ hobby was car audio, and not the teenage put a sub in to make it rattle deal. I have always been into good clean sound.
Also some other little things I have thought of. when I bought this set up, I wanted something that sounded amazing, but was still light weight, and had enough room for the targa, and other stuff in the hatch.
Pics or it didn't happen right?
I bought a JL w3 8" already in a ported box. Hooked it up to my 5 channel amp and sounds great. I would go with JL over pioneer any day. Also love my 5 channel amp. I will never put aftermarket speakers in a car without an amp for them.
Anyways love my little 8" jl. Sounds great. Hits about as...
Good stuff. Look forward to seeing some progress.
Kinda shitty to see all of the problems you have had with the 7m's. I feel for you. You can't go wrong with an LS engine. Good luck on the build.
Im on a 89+ ecu so the pin out is different. But the AEM calls the special plug the "C" plug. Anyways what I think I have decided is that I am going to wire it to "EGR Temp" AEM name "LS #2" And I believe it is pin 16 on plug "A". Hope it works.
Thanks man. I kind of thought this same thing. I just need to figure out what pin I need to wire it to I suppose.
Does anyone know where to get the "C" plug for the AEM, or should I just use a single pin for it. I know I will be doing boost control and anti lag off the "C" plug sometime in the...
I am in the process of wiring up my electric fans on my 89 7mgte Supra with an AEM EMS 30-1130. I am trying to do a few things here. I would like to trigger my fans to turn on with my AEM EMS. I would like to have some help with figuring out wiring and outputs and inputs here.
So first thing...
Well, if you want to play around with any 2j's you better slap a turbo on your car, or go gte and do some modifications. Of course this whole thread should actually not be on here, as you should have been able to research and figure out all of this by yourself.
7mgte is a 7m.
I believe you mean GE? In that case, your going to loose every time. you could put a turbo on it, but it will not be very reliable.
Also please use full sentences, or at least spell things the right way to make it easier on everyone to read.
Thanks, I actually found a guy on SF named X-man ran 510 on toyota HG.
Anyways, I would actually recommend you do a metal head gasket. I was in your situation 2 years ago. My HG went out, and I didn't want to pull my engine and deck the block. So I went with a composite HG. Well, now I am...
I have been running on 16+ for over a year, beating on my car constantly, and haven't had any problems. Do I recommend it? No. Can it be done? Yes.
I am going to be building a block on the side, that way if she pops, Ill have one ready to go. This spring, I am planning on setting the record...
It should be alright. If you are going to be pulling the engine to do the rod studs, you might as well have your head and block decked, and run a MHG instead tho. That way you have a little more insurance. I am regretting I did not do a MHG while I had my engine apart, because now I want to push...
