You will hit fuel cut at like 9psi with that turbo. Until you get a fuel regulator, piggyback, and bigger injectors you should be no real real danger of blowing your headgasket. But if you were to not correct install your MHG then 9psi could definetly do it.
Well if you cant afford new pistons atleast get new rod and main bearings, clevite 77's preferably, they are cheap and definetly worth it. And obviously have the whole engine inspected by a machinist prior to rebuild just so he can give you a better idea on what kind if any machining should be...
If I were you i would definetly not go cheap on the rod bearings or pistons. Ohh and if your rebuilding your engine then you going to need to get yourself a new Toyota oil pump. You will need the oiling lines, and a manifold to bolt it too. Bigger injectors, NOT VENOM INJECTORS!!!!!!!!! Ohh...
