BOV making weird noise

So I jus installed a apexi air filter and replaced a buncha vacuum hoses with glossy black silicon ones and now for the HKS SSQV bov sounds like an old man clearing his throat when I shift

it gets better when im on the freeway and boosting a little harder but I'm jus wondering what I could have accidentally done to bring this on myself.

did you hook the vacuum line back up to the BOV?.... sounds like you didn't and your surging your turbo.

its not like a rattle its more of a deep throat clearing

yup..... go make sure the vac line is connected to the nipple on the back of the bov and then to good vacuum source on the intake manifold.

Comp. surge is FTL, fix that asap, don't boost until you've tracked down that problem .

You probably have a weak vacuum source. To find the leak smoke cigar into a vacuum line until you start seeing smoke coming out somewhere.

most of the vaccum lines that you can get aren't metric, but standard sizes, so they're not quite the same size. use zip ties to make sure they stay on right...

oh thats what the zip ties were for?

it seems like the silicon hose is gonna slip off the BOV nipple so you guys are saying zip ties are the way to go?

yep, use em like hose clamps...

The better option is to get those little metal clamps that take needle nose pliers to get off, but they can be tricky to find if your local hardware places don't have any.

yeh this shit is pissing me off i havent boosted in days, i have yet to do the smoke test,

i think a weak point might be on the actual vaccuum adapter thingy that comes off the HKS bov and into the vacuum line not being tight enough even with the lil zip tie
