i was wondering what the max boost i could push in my 88 supra with stock internals and a 1.4 mm titan motorstports metal head gasket. also im putting arp head studs in it and i was wondering if the motor has to be lowered in order to get the head over the studs once installed..thanks

very broad question.
all depends on the turbo, head torque specs, prep work.

all in all, its basically all in the tune with sufficient race gas, with no detonation and you will be good.

The studs can be installed first, then the head can be dropped onto it.

Max boost? Till she blows ;)

It's easier to drop the head on to the index pins, then thread the studs in from the top. Put the washers in each stud hole 1st and finger tight the studs. Torque to the ARP spec (80 ft/lbs) in increments per the TRSM pattern.

if just a stock ct 26...you can push as much as possible until fuel cut. usually will be around a bar give or take. keep in mind though that the ct26 is only really good unlit 14 psi..after that its just plain useless

You will hit fuel cut at like 9psi with that turbo. Until you get a fuel regulator, piggyback, and bigger injectors you should be no real real danger of blowing your headgasket. But if you were to not correct install your MHG then 9psi could definetly do it.

Fuel cut has nothing to do with the size of the turbo other than the amount of air it is capable of pulling through the AFM. The AFM determines fuel cut by the volume of air it senses...period. On a stock AFM, fuel cut will occur ~12 psi...with a Lex AFM it will happen ~18 psi.

A MHG properly installed will hold 25+ psi easy. Of course, other things in the motor might break. ;)
