yep sounds just like bad valve seals. most machine shops if they take anything apart they replace the seals. did they? you can replace the seals w/ the head on the block, but it isnt a ton of fun. and if you drop a valve youd have to take it off anyway. if you take your time and pay...
a guy i know x-ray'd and tested stock rods vs upgraded v8 rods. not sure of the brand of v8 rods. but, our stock rods were better quality than the v8 upgrades. and, found that our stock rods contain a small % of titanium.
if anyone cared, i could maybe see if he would test some eagle rods.
zdraste!
i know what you are saying. i dont run one on my car, but back several years ago there were a few that did. in theory, the way it works is the esc is connected to the knock sensor. if knock is detected, it will drop voltage out of the esc. and when that happens, it will trigger...
yep! all you need is a gm esc and a caspers knock monitor.
here is a pic
they offer them in a few other faces and colors. $84 plus youd need an esc from either a parts store or junkyard. casper also offers an add on buzzer for audible knock detection.
not sure what you are asking. why does the 67 make more power or why is the 67 a little cheaper.
to answer both, like dr j said, the power difference is because of a 61mm compressor wheel vs a 67mm wheel.
price wise, i just happen to get a better deal on the 67.
not sure about the...
yes, the gt35r is available in both t3 and t4 turbine housings. either you could use with an adapter on the stock manifold.
i agree the gt35r will do 500rw, but thats really pushing the boost high for pump gas. if you want 500rw on pump gas you might look into a pt67. however, that will...
i was speaking of auto cars. little more drivetrain loss and slightly lower boost. looking back, he has a 5sp tho.
180-190 is what i would say then. i havent ever seen a 100% stock 5sp dyno past 192rw. but then again, ive only seen a handful that were 100% stock.
either way, his car...
glad to hear you got it together!
sucks about the ebrake, i hate working/adjusting that thing.
not sure how the 3 way smoked. too small of wire? i dont see how it was anything that you did unless you reversed the wires or something. id be happy to look at it next time im over.
dont know your mods, so can comment on the numbers.
but i say this- stock is usually 170-180rw, and any day you drive home from the dyno is a good day.
anything could be causing your boost issue. since w/ the wg it runs a solid 6psi, id say the problem is somewhere other than the wg or...
yeah, im still trying to figure that out. kinda hard to follow your drawing when it was the size of a postage stamp lol. i got it fixed, and will let you know what i come up with.
looks good mojo. ive noticed on some electronic stepper motor controlled gauges the needles kinda flick around, not a smooth motion. have you noticed this at all?
as far as the problem, i would def check both power and ground sources. if either are weak, it will cause problems. some elec...
i gained 115rwhp when i took off the cat. oh wait, i upgraded the turbo at the same time so maybe that isnt a fair comparison.
seriously tho, i have a mag article here where they did a hi flow cat shootout. they flow tested several different oem and aftermarket cats, as well as straight...
you are like the neighbor- damn is it broke again? id buy a new car. you are always in the garage and i never see it leave.
still doesnt beat the time i was playing around on a side road. i was trying to dial gain on the boost controller. i happened to see this woman walking her dog...
yes and no. if you plan on going to the track (this area anyway), almost all require you to have it in a box. probably all, but not enforced. same goes w/ a battery cut off switch. required, but not always enforced.
