the electronics for the lex afm and stock are identical. its only the housing that is different. you could just swap the electronics part, it fits right on the stock housing.

yeah valve seals will def cause a puff of smoke at startup. usually the longer it sits, the bigger the puff. what happens is oil leaks down past the seals into the cyl. and collects. thats why it usually is just at start up. bad enough, it could do it while driving. since not much oil in...

yeah good idea. flow the coolant as fast as you can thru the radiator. it doesnt do much but impede coolant flow anyway.

you can interchange the blocks. if you take the oil pan off, an early 89 and older will have a 6m crank, and mid 89+ will have a 7m crank. you can put a 6m crank in a 89+ block, but to put a 7m crank in a pre 89 i'm pretty sure you have to machine some clearances.
