Are you SURE it's the valves? Sounds like bottom end to me. If your bearing clearances are out of spec, your rods will rattle around on the crank until pressure builds.

You need to swap the bellhousing, and possibly the input shaft (which is really easy)
The output flanges may be different as well, so you would need a custom driveshaft, or an adapter plate.
