For what it is worth the 2jz is perfectly square at 86 x 86 (bore x stroke). I believe the 1jz is 86 x 77. From what i have seen I think square motors have the most desirable characteristics, the best of both worlds design.
A formula one car for example has a really large bore and an...
I'm Surprised so many circuit racers would want a 2 way diff. They are notoriously bad on turn in since they also lock under braking (understeer). 2 ways are usually the in thing for the "drift" crowd, not the road race guys. I would think 1.5 way would be the way to go for an aftermarket...
If you read the seafoam bottle it tells you how much gas one can of seafoam should be mixed with. I have done this many times and have had no problems with it. Although I dont think running more concentrated seafoam hurts anything.
I have been trying to figure out what is sqeaking in the front of my car. The squeak occurs when going in and out of drive ways (wheels turned or straight) and the same squeak occurs when getting on the brakes (I only notice this at low speeds and light braking). So I parked the car and opened...
So in Cali you cant swap motors, even if it is from a newer vehicle ( i realize it is a JDM tyte motor) but even with the US emissions stuff on it its still illegal? If so that is really really ghey...So glad I live where nobody cares what you do to your car.
Alright, I just purchased a mechanical boost gauge and an electric oil pressure gauge for my car. After searching around I think I have found the correct locations to attach the vac line and the sending unit but just wanted to start a thread to help all the newbs (like myself) that spend a...
awesome, I love this post.
Also i would point out that just like a roll cage, I think steel tubing above your head should have padding on it if you are not going to be wearing a helmet driving the car. If you do get in an accident and hit your head on those bars it will not feel good...
I think the car would look extremely goofy with that on the roof. I would say you should just keep your top on if you want the car to be more rigid. I personally do not think the shimmy is that bad, it is noticeable but i doubt anyone pushes their car hard enough with the top off to know the...
Having read a lot of threads with many of the MK4 tuners chiming in, it is possible to run 20+ psi on pump gas but to do it you need to pull so much timing that you dont gain power or you even loose power (for "safe" tune, btw i really dont recommend doing this!). It is generally accepted that...
Having driven a '04 GTO (6sp) and my basic mod MK3 (5sp) I would still say the supra is a much more fun car to drive, slightly slower but still responsive enough (turbo lag with a CT-26 at least is over rated)...and it is definitely a lot more fun to drive quickly around corners...
^^werd top off is totally worth it. and being a guy who is interested in corners more then stoplight to stoplight stuff I think the car is really stiff with the top on and stiff enough with it off - but you can tell the difference!
