I run my 7m a full quart over what is recomended. zero issues and added protection from Daknock... Also see if any smoke is coming out of the tailpipe. If you are burning any appreciable amount of oil (from bad turbo seals) there will be blueish smoke coming out the back.

also if all of you are so worried about a little noise increase than just keep the stock exhaust system on the car. My opinion is a sports car can have a loud exhaust, and a straight pipe on a turbo car is not even that loud. I have heard tons of cars that are louder which have nice expensive...

I guess most of you haven't ran a straight pipe on a turbo car (not some 1000hp car, just a normal street mk3)...My car is no louder than a stock SRT-4 which also has a mufflerless exhaust straight from the factory...I wonder how they pulled that off maybe because the turbo muffles the exhaust note.

well if its not making the noise it was making before its hard to diagnose it, but rod knock doesnt really come and go, it normally comes and only gets worse... listen to any of the million rod knock vids on the net to see if it sounded like that i guess.

basically ruining O2 sensors and cats is the only drawback to Leaded fuel...other than the environmental side of it.

I also second this post. Working on a racecar that runs ethanol has shown me that ethanol loves to eat at a lot of stuff in a fuel system. i would recommend going through the system to make it ethanol safe before going the E85 route.
