update.. so far I can't find a single oil leak. If I drive the car 3 miles to the train station I can smell a burnt oil smell. If the car is driven longer than that the smell goes away. It smells like it is coming from the drivers side of the car.

Sounds certainly like a BHG. Have a leak down test performed. A repair shop will do it for around $90.00 if you aren't sure how to do it.

Exactly. I have never seen a car that can be run with its radiator cap off unless its cold. Even then.. it only takes 5+ minutes to heat up enough to start bubbling over the top of the radiator.

I retorques after 150 miles and around 8 heat cycles. I had originally torqued a new set of Toyota head bolts fo 72. When I retorqued several of them were still at 72 and several of them were 15ft/lbs lower!!! A retorque is an absolute MUST.

What did he torque the head to? Also... did he have the head machined flat? What are the details????
