theres not much you can do for the hks. its not that it gets dirty its that it allows the most particle passage. this means air and dirt through the filter material and into the motor. id say just keep up with the replacement filters and your set.

yea i read it and i dont remember seeing anything about the ebay filters. the hks flows near the top but also lets the most amount of dirt through. the apex flows the best. K&N flows well. this one doesnt look bad, just replace the filter element with a generic 3 in K&N and be done with it.

you can drill out the lex screw and back it out and that should lean him out some. look at the afm and one side will be molded. the other side will have a little silver disk thats about as big as the nail on your pinky finger. drill that silver disk out (1/4 in think iirc) and use a flathead...

theres one guy that modifies the stocker that i was looking into. its relatively cheap and without doing anything it flows 7% better than stock with less deviation between cycls.

there was a thread recently about the flow of these ics. they tested the stocker, spearco, and ebay and the ebayer out flowed them all combined.

i did the sogi mod and it was a far cry better than the origional stocker. that said last year i got a new redesigned one form toyota ($15.xx from champion) and there was an even bigger difference. spend the money and get the new one.
