i dont see why it would be a big problem with the length. the 1jz guys are using the jdm ones and just sticking the ecu on the drivers side rather than the glovebox (guy in houston has this exact setup).

yes hte screw allows more unmetered air in and this helps get around f/c for a few more psi. however this does lean things out some (still under 11:1) with the screw backed out all the way. if you remove the screw comepletely you are letting in both unfiltered air and also more unmetered...

take the sending line and return line off of the resivior. they should drain freely. theres a tiny mesh screen in there that gets clogged over time. mine did the same thing (bottle full and the pump fried because it wasnt getting fluid!) ive heard theres a way to clean it (backflush maybe?)...

you can fry the ecu also. a local guy did that (connected the harness up backward and poof went the ecu) as for the turbo front/back play is much worse than radial. a little radial is normal as the turbo is oil lubed and there needs to be some space for the oil to flow and act as a bearing.

B- is the turbo coolant sending line C - cold start injector i think D- heater core sending line E- heater core return line F - power steering pump w/o a belt on it the other 2 i know but just cant remember, plus you wouldnt learn anything if ya didnt work some!
