prob north of 4500 rpms for positive numbers. im betting they take the rear housing from a diesels and stick the popular t66, t88 etc wheels on the front for next to nothing and pop it on ebay. {shrug} ive seen more people running them now and i think they have come a long way from epoxy and...
Hey guys. I used to troll over on MR2OC was i was looking into picking up a dd while the sup was down. As of a few months ago it looked like everything was going fine until i just found out that the forum had been shut down. heres a link to a forum where the owner (Bill Strong) Speaks out...
took me 2 tries to understand your first post. please dont do this regardless if its a CF, FG, or stock metal. i cant imagine this ending well overall unless the car is strictly for show dont do it.
id watch out playing video games on the computer. theres a lag that doesnt let it work. the computer is about 1-2 seconds behind a regular tv ive noticed.
a 50 trim isnt worth it imho. its such a small step up from the stock wheel youd just be better off getting a rebuild and be done with it or going with a 57 trim whell. check out mdc as mentioned above
not gonna work and not worth it. call toyota and buy a new one. yellow is pre89 and grey is post. there were changed in the ecu also (HAC for example) that makes them not interchangeable. sorry bro
would be a great idea i think for the NA guys. a filter alone (fipk) is expensive and if you were to make one that looks nice for a good price (the 100 or less) its great
$700?! damn u guys need to call champion toyota in houston. guy recently bought a brand new 89+ harness for $400.
but yea honestly look for a 87,88 harness in good shape or buy one brand new.
89 was a weird year. look at your ecu, and it will have yellow plugs. the 90+ cars had grey plugs and there were some changes to the ecu and harness. 89 was the transition year. ive seen early 89 cars with yellow and grey plugs. why not just order a new one from toyota?
the ebay down pipes are just ok as it doesnt replace the elbow which is really restrictive. also for the most part the flex section they use is 2.5 in which is the diameter of the stock turbo exhaust. check out zoonen pipes or keep an eye on the f/s section for a used dp for cheap.
+1 for the hauppage. i have the 250 (i think) card and its great over all. can do just about any format you can think of, remote works great and ive heard it works with media center if you want. would recommend to anyone
no need to go the bb route really with a ct26. that thing spools plenty fast as it is with just a 3in exhaust and intake. get some hardpipes for the intercooler and possibly upgrade the ic also and be done with it.
yea the starter is a bitch especially if its not the 90+ (threaded holes) but...
didnt mean to insult you at all, just trying to get all the information and the reason behind it from a seasoned supra vet.
it does sound like turbo is on its way out. you can get new molding from toyota (the driver side door panel alone is $113!) i have a blue drivers and pass side one...
